Kicking off our Crowdfunding - With You
During these challenging times, the demand for our work continues. In an effort to support this impactful work, we’ve launched a 72 hour matching gift crowdfunding campaign, which will culminate in our Virtual Benefit this Thursday, April 2nd at 7pm EDT.
Until the end of this week, TRIPLE your gift through our matching gift campaign. Your support now more than ever enables our rapid response to help educators adapt to meet the urgent needs required to continue Jewish education and to strengthen our community.
And be sure to join us on April 2nd to celebrate our community, our vital work together, and some of the talented leaders and visionaries that make this all possible!
Last night, we heard from inspiring Jewish teens in our virtual panel on “The Power of Teens to Change the World: Responding to Coronavirus.” You can watch the recording here. The teens shared how they’re navigating these uncertain times with resilience, strength, and unique perspective. In many ways, I believe that teens offer us a model for maintaining and leaning on relationships and friends during this moment. Thank you again for your support that makes our support of Jewish teens and youth organizations possible.
Teen reflections from last night's Virtual Panel
"I think that there are a lot of pros and cons that come with the vast amount of technology that we're exposed to and we're able to use and, of course, these last few weeks have gone to show us how beneficial technology can be in times of crisis. But at the same time, I think that technology has raised a lot of questions about mental health for our generation and how people respond to each other and interact online and how social media contributes to [teen] mental health."
- Julie Levey
"When it really hit that we were going to be here, stuck in our homes for a while, I got very involved with helping J-Teen Leadership, a teen social action organization I'm involved in, move a lot of our efforts online. Some of what we've done is create a peer tutoring program matching people from schools that are closed who needed additional education assistance with teens and college students who are home so they can build relationships around education."
- Abe Baker-Butler
Like these inspiring teens, may we all continue to find ways to connect to and support one another in these trying times.
Best wishes for continued health,
David
