Service Learning Model: Lirdof Tzedek (To Pursue Justice)

Current Status:

Lirdof Tzedek is now called Tzedek League. The name change came about when it became clear that “Lirdof Tzedek” was difficult for many people to remember and pronounce correctly. “Tzedek League,” a play on the “Justice League" DC comics and movies, was adopted as the new name.

One structural change that has taken place is that there are now multiple avenues for volunteering on weekdays, weekends, and at two different sites, in order to meet the interests and schedules of the teens.

Reflections of the Educator:

Strong staffing has been the greatest contributor to the success of Lirdof Tzedek/Tzedek League. The Temple is also very proud that the teens, as High School students, continue to independently volunteer at the sites.
